Job Details:
Our rapidly growing construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and deliver construction projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with a focus on fiber optics, construction management, cost control, risk management, and planning. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of our team, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to create functional and efficient project plans.
  • Review and study project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Develop and implement detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Estimate, negotiate, and agree on project budgets and timescales with clients and managers.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Manage the use of building materials, machinery, and equipment, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Oversee and direct on-site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate risks and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, daily reports, and other necessary documents.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on fiber optics.
  • Proven working experience in construction project management, including record of successful project delivery.
  • Expert knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process, including competency in financial management, risk management, and project planning.
  • Proficient in construction management software packages.
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
  • Excellent knowledge of building and construction, materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices, and the ability to coordinate a diverse set of professionals.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
