Job DetailsThe Senior buyer drives strategic purchasing and inventory management to support high-volume metal distribution and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Support procurement and purchasing activities to ensure materials and services meet operational needs
- Coordinate purchase documentation and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding pricing, availability, and delivery status
- Monitor open orders, follow up on outstanding items, and assist with issue resolution
- Support reporting and tracking of purchasing and supplier performance data
- Assist with supplier evaluations, bid reviews, and cost-management efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
- Stay informed on market conditions and industry trends relevant to purchasing activities
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software
- APICS, ISM or Greenbelt certification, or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years purchasing experience. ISO 9001 environment preferred.
